Championship Car
In 1989, F88 brought UTA its 5th National
FSAE Campionship title!
Formula #89 featured an aluminum monocoque
chassis. It's large side pods and monocoque design helped
it achieve the highest torsional rigidity of any of UTA's
formula cars. Car #89 placed 17th in 1989. In 1990 this same
vehicle was modified extensively and won UTA's sixth National
FSAE Championship. Changes for 1990 included a new body, a
new UTA-designed (EFI) Electronic Fuel Injection system, and
a turbocharged Kawasaki 600cc engine that was modified to
use M-85 fuel.
