F85 returned with a new paint job to compete in 1986 and won UTA's fourth National Championship title.

F85 was the first car that we sold to the team captain.  Greg Copeland bought the car and with his buddy Jeff Richichi removed the 500cc engine and put in a Yamaha 1000cc engine and called it the “YamaMonster”… and it was.  They raced it locally for a couple of years.  This car inspired the SCCA to change the rules for Amod since they were afraid that it would dominate its class at nationals.  Greg now has the car in Ohio.

F86 in 1986

F86 was an evolution of F85 with the 500 V4 engine.  The car did not have a differential and continued with a hydraulic version of the butterfly shifter.  In 1986 F86 placed 7th.
