The UTA Formula SAE 2002 car expands on the concepts of 2001's aerodynamics, running the downforce
from the wings and undertray straight into the suspension. The unique carbon-fiber undertray is separate from the
chassis and is a structural member for the aerodynamics package. The wings are attached to the undertray, and the
undertray is in turn attached to the suspension, allowing the entire aero package to move separate from the rest of
the car. This method of attaching the aerodynamics has attracted international acclaim for its originality, garnering
mention in such magazines as Race Tech and Racecar Engineering. The car was designed for up
to 3 g's, and has been measured under race conditions (2002 SCCA Nationals, Topeka, Kansas) at 1.9 g's.
