The #96 car marked UTA's second championship
title in a row and an unmatched eight victories in fifteen
years of Formula SAE Competition. #96 set a new benchmark for
UTA success, accumulating the most points in Formula SAE
history and winning by the largest margin in history.
Outstanding handling characteristics combined with good power
and incredible fuel economy made #96 a great performer. The
suspension featured unequal length a-arms with dual inboard
shock absorbers, all packaged inside a well designed 4130
steel tube space frame. the turbocharged Honda 400cc engine
ran on M-85 fuel controlled by UTA's student-built and
programmed five-injector electronic fuel injection, and
featured a unique intake system that used a heat exchanger.
